Delete your Goeria account and data

You can delete your Goeria account and the personal information attached to it at any time. There are two ways to do it, and both lead to the same result.

In the app, which is immediate

  1. Open Goeria and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Tap You in the navigation.
  3. Scroll to the Account section.
  4. Tap Delete account.
  5. Type DELETE to confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out on every device.

By email, if you cannot open the app

  1. Write to support@goeria.com.
  2. Include the phone number you sign in with, so we can find the account.
  3. Ask us to delete your account.

We will confirm and complete the deletion within thirty days, and usually much sooner.

Goeria Business: organiser accounts

An organiser account holds events, ticket sales and money owed to the organiser, so Goeria closes it for you rather than at once.

  1. In Goeria Business, open More and tap Delete account, then Ask to delete my account. Or write to support@goeria.com with the phone number you sign in with.
  2. We pay out any balance you are owed to your payout number.
  3. We close your events and refund buyers the ticket price for any date that has not happened.
  4. Within 30 days we delete your name, phone number and payout number. Sales and payout records the law requires are kept, without your name on them.

Gate staff who only scan tickets can delete their account in the Goeria app, as above.

What is deleted

All of the following is removed and cannot be recovered.

Data What happens
Your phone number Removed. It stops working as a sign in, and becomes available again if you ever want a new account.
Your name Deleted.
Your email address Deleted.
The mobile money number you paid from Deleted.
The categories you chose Deleted.
Saved events Deleted.
Notifications Deleted.
Your device notification token Deleted. Goeria can no longer send anything to your phone.
Sign in sessions Revoked on every device immediately.
Tickets saved on your phone Removed from the device when you delete the account or uninstall the app.

What is kept, and for how long

One thing is kept, and only because the law requires it.

These records carry nothing that identifies you. Your name, your phone number, your email address and the wallet you paid from are all stripped out as part of the deletion. What remains is a figure and a date with nobody's name on it, and it is never used for any other purpose.

Before you delete

Deleting your account cancels any ticket you have not used yet. If you have paid for a ticket to an event that has not happened, use it first or you will lose it. We cannot restore a deleted account or reissue its tickets.
